Can Your Inner Child Come Out and Play?

In order to grow as adults, we need to slow down and embrace the children we once were. Our inner child has answers to questions that nobody can answer and, sometimes, we need to let our hair down and behave like a child.

Children tend to live life to the fullest without a care in the world. They laugh often, use their never-ending imagination, chase their dreams, and let go of the weight of the world. As adults, we tend to lose sight of the small wonders and we worry too much about life; our finances, jobs, kids, families, etc. We need to take a step back and listen to our inner child’s voice, encourage it to come out and play even for a couple of hours.

Try and talk to your inner child once in awhile. I know it sounds kind of out there for some of us, but who better to listen to you, than you? Partner up with your inner child when making a big decision. Ask her what he or she thinks about a situation you might be unsure of. When faced with a problem, ask your inner child to come up with solutions. Make your inner child your counselor. No one knows you better than you do. He/she can help you focus on the bigger picture

Play more and worry less. We need to take time to stop and smell the roses… literally relax and enjoy the little things in life. Go outside and play. Sing in the rain, jump in a puddle, have a water fight, play hopscotch. These little things can make you become more in tune with yourself…Read More
